KIIT Deemed University Evinces Impressive Performance in THE World University Rankings 2019

Higher learning institutes in India have evinced impressive performance in THE World University Rankings 2019. Almost 49 Indian institutes have made it to the list of rankings this year. Among such institutes, KIIT Deemed University has achieved a remarkable milestone by featuring in THE World University Rankings 2019. The institute has performed well in global rankings this year. KIIT Deemed University has bagged the position of 1,001+ in THE World University Rankings 2019.

It is one of the significant achievements for KIIT Deemed University, as the popular Odisha-based institute bagged university status in 2004. Despite being a very young university, KIIT has bagged a spot in the much awaited and coveted rankings. KIIT is the only self-financing university in Eastern India to enter into THE World University Rankings 2019.

Founder of KIIT Deemed University, Professor Achyuta Samanta expressed that the achievement of the institute is not possible without the dedicated efforts of staff and students. KIIT was started in rented space with Rs. 5000 earlier, and now, the institute has featured in global rankings, which is a greater achievement for a young university like KIIT. The institute will further improve its performance in global rankings in future, he hoped.

Times Higher Education (THE) publishes THE World University Rankings annually. At present, universities from 86 countries take part in rankings. THE is the only agency that evaluates the performance of institutes based on research output, which is one of the parameters of the rankings.
