Kirloskar Institute to Introduce Management Training for Family Run Business
- The course is a two-year full-time programme approved by the AICTE.
- It is a residential postgraduate diploma in management, during the programme will learn about industrial integrated training.
Since most of the business across the country are family run it is very necessary that new generation that is going to take over the family business to understand the dynamics of the business as it is undergoing a rapid change. KIAMS has introduced a new specialisation for family run business.
Kirloskar Institute of Advanced Management Studieshas started a specialized management course for family run business - Entrepreneurship for Family Run Business. The programme is a two-year full-time programme approved by the All India Council for Technical Education AICTE. The programme offered by the institute is a residential postgraduate diploma in management. Students during the programme will learn about industrial integrated training. There would be around 15 fellowships each costing around Rs. 1 lakh.

As per the statement issued by the institute, they are also planning to introduce a specialisation in business analytics from next academic year. It will be a 15-month weekend programme mainly for working professionals. Atul Kirloskar, Chairman of the Kirloskar Group and KIAMS council member stated that there are various top management schools offering many management programmes. However, there are not many institutes across the country offering a programme in entrepreneurship for family run business.

He also added that these programs are common in countries like USA and UK but not everyone can afford to study abroad. This course is ideal for the young generation of the business families that mainly have a turnover between 200-300 crore.
