KL (Deemed to be) University Bags 1st Rank in HRD Swachh Campus Ranking 2019

The KL (Deemed to be) University has bagged 1st rank in HRD Swachh Campus Ranking 2019. The university has bagged the first rank amongst the cleanest Higher Educational Institutions in the country under the category Residental University by UGC.

MHRD Minister Shri. Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' made the announcement regarding the Swachhata Campus Rankings 2019 on December 3rd, 2019 at Prajan, Nelson Mandela Marg, New Delhi. The award was received by Koneru Siva Kanchana Latha, Secretary, and Correspondent of KLEF.

HRD Ministry appreciated the KLEF's efforts to keep the campus clean and green. According to ministry a green and clean campus help stimulate students mind which ultimately helps in their overall development. A panel/ committee from MHRD visited the KL (deemed) to be University in August 2019 and was impressed by the university's efforts to provide nothing but the best environment to its students. The method of converting solid waste into compost through STP, using renewable sources like solar and wind energy were some of the factors that really impressed the committee.

Institutional Swachh Campus Rankings 2019 are given to those varsities, institutes, and colleges for their dedication and outstanding efforts for keeping the campus cleanliness, hygiene, waste management, water purity, campus greenery, etc. Apart from maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the campus, Swachh Campus Rankings also take into account the cleanliness of the neighbourhood villages and surroundings.

Such efforts on the part of KL Deemed to be University not only promote an eco-friendly environment but is also a big step towards sustainable development.
