The students of Electrical and Electronics department of Koneru Lakshmaiah University along with NSS volunteers of university visited an orphanage on 22-March-2016
The students collected funds from the college students and faculty and then used that money to buy Fans, Books, Pens, Slates, Bed sheets etc.which they donated to orphan children.
College Dean, Habibullah Khan, HOD of Electronics department Dr.Chandrashekar, NSS Coordinator Dr.Sripathi Roy and K. Siva Reddy have given away funds for the development of orphanage.
Students have been collecting funds for the past one week and they have been visiting various government schools and orphanages and helping them. They have distributed examination kits to the 10th class students who are appearing for board examinations.
HOD of Electronics Department, Dr. Chandrashekar said, “The department along with NSS organizes various social activities every year”. He appreciated the efforts of students in collecting funds from various nearby colleges.
The students have donated a sum of Rs.1, 00,000 for the development of the orphanage. Books, slates and pens were distributed to the children. The students motivated the children to study well and come up in life.
