Kolhan University to Host Second Convocation Ceremony on November 28
Droupadi Murmu, Governor of Jharkhand, will attend the function as the Chief Guest and award degrees to students.
Kolhan University announced that it would hold its second convocation ceremony on November 28, 2016. The convocation ceremony will take place at the varsity premises, and a total number of 64 students of the 2013-14 batch will be awarded degrees. Droupadi Murmu, Governor of Jharkhand, will attend the function as the Chief Guest and award degrees to students.

One of the officials of university explained that the convocation ceremony was supposed to take place in October 2015. However, it was postponed to February 2016 and then August 2016. All the three tentative dates failed to materialize as the university could not get dates from Union Home Minister.
He further said that the varsity tried to invite former HRD Minister Smriti Irani and she too wasn’t available on the dates mentioned above. As per sources, at least 1,400 students are expected to be a part of the convocation ceremony in Chaibasa in West Singhbhum.

Kolhan University was established on August 13, 2009, with 12 affiliated colleges and 14 constituent colleges which consist of 55,000 students. The university is located in a tribal region. The affiliated and constituent colleges are located in Seraikela Kharswan, West Singhbhum and East Singhbhum districts.
The varsity offers a broad range of courses which include UG, PG, Law, Management, Education, Medical, Dental, Engineering and Vocational courses.
