The HSC exam has begun in Maharashtra including Kolhapur across 142 centres. The Maharashtra State Board for Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) conducts the exam for the students in the arts, science, commerce and minimum competence vocational course streams. The HSC exam will continue till March 28, 2016.
Students are appearing for the exam across 142 centres in the division. The total students appearing for HSC exam this year, 1.21 lakh are regular students and 4,520 students are repeaters. More than 2,500 teachers are part of the examination process.1, 25, 570 students in this year giving exam Kolhapur section include 71,679 boys and 53, 811 girls.
The examination centres have appointed flying squads to ensure no cheating in the exam. The flying squad includes the Education Officer, Deputy Education Director, Assistant Education Director etc. The sensitive examination centres will be under video surveillance as a security measure to curb malpractices. The Education Board has also opted for counsellors, who will assist parents and students each day throughout the exam period.
Stationary squads are presenting at each examination centre to keep a check on copying. Apart from this, at least four to eight flying squads have been assigned for each district. The flying squads will conduct surprise inspections of exam centres.
