KPMG, TOI, Reliance Heads Address IIM Rohtak's Management Summit
- Eminent people from the consulting, media and telecom industries were a part of the Management Summit organised by IIM Rohtak.
- The main objective of the summit was to facilitate the industry and academia interaction.
Indian Institute of Management, Rohtak organised a management summit on the theme ‘Crossroads: Paradox of Choice’ at Chelmsford Club, Delhi. The main objective behind it was to counter the idea - whether to have too many choices or not. Dignitaries from various sectors of the industry as well as media were a part of the event.
Vice President of KPMG, Mr. Vikram Jeet Singh, in his speech at the event, mentioned that Artificial Intelligence does not provide any scope for replacing the jobs of human beings. Even though the Robotic Automation Process (RAP) is underway, robotics could only do recreative jobs without getting tired. Human beings shall focus more on value creation. People must refrain themselves from the assumption that Artificial Intelligence is going to take away their jobs.

Mr. Vikram advised the managers to focus on core businesses and build services around them. While stating an example, he quoted that Uber is not only aggregating cars but also transporting people from place A to B.
Mr. Sanjay Maan, President of North East Region for Enterprise Business at Reliance Communications Limited indicated that only four companies were operating in the telecom industry until 2008. Later, the government issued the license to eight more companies. He also explained about the revolution brought by Reliance Jio in the telecom industry.
Mr. Pankaj Doval, Senior Editor (Times of India) praised the development of social media, which is becoming significant in the way people consume news. According to him, media may have physical limitations but social media plays a vital role in bringing to light the happenings even from the obscure places around the world.

Director of IIM Rohtak, Dr. Dheeraj Sharma pointed that the purpose of the summit was to facilitate the industry and academia interaction. The summit will play a vital role in bringing the curriculum in sync with the industry needs.
