KSLU to Conduct Exams for Intermediate Semester Students Promoted to Next Semester
The students of KSLU who were in the intermediate semesters were promoted and term-end exams were conducted only for the final year students due to the COVID-19 pandemic. These students will have to appear for the semester exams now.
The Karnataka State Law University (KSLU) has made an announcement regarding the semester exams of its intermediate semester students. All the students of KSLU and its affiliated colleges who were in their intermediate semesters were promoted to the next semester without having to give exams. This step was taken amidst the coronavirus pandemic and exams were conducted only for final year students. However, the intermediate semester students will now have to appear for the previous semester exam compulsorily.
In an official statement, it was declared that the promotion of students to the next semester was done only for the sake of admissions. The semester exams will be conducted once the colleges are reopened.
The students of KSLU who were in their intermediate semesters were promoted without any exams and the term-end exams were held only for the students in their final year. This has led confusion and a misunderstanding has been created among the intermediate semester law students as they are convinced that there will be no exam for them. The university stated this while clarifying the doubts and revealing that the exams will be conducted soon.

The Bar Council of India (BCI) had earlier allowed universities and colleges across the country to conduct online examinations for final year students. It had declared that all students, except those in their final year, will be promoted on the basis of their performance in previous years and marks obtained in the current year's internal examination.
However, it has now been clarified that after reopening of the colleges and universities, the end semester exams will be conducted with respect to the year from which the students have been promoted. This is to be done within a reasonable period of time, although the students promoted this way will continue to study in the year to which they have been promoted. In case a student is unable to pass or clear any paper of the end semester exam of the year from which he/ she has been promoted, he/ she will have to clear the same before obtaining the degree from the college/ university.
