KVPY Aptitude Test on May 22: Check exam pattern & marking scheme
KVPY exam pattern and syllabus are available on its official website- kvpy.iisc.ernet.in. KVPY 2021 exam is scheduled to be conducted on May 22.
KVPY aptitude test was rescheduled to be held on 22nd May 2022. Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore is responsible for releasing the exam pattern of KVPY. The exam pattern and syllabus are available on its official website- kvpy.iisc.ernet.in. The KVPY question paper will include four science subjects- Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
KVPY is an online computer-based exam conducted for 3-hours. The question paper will consist of MCQs for both SA and SB/ SX streams. All questions in the SA stream is compulsory to attend whereas, in the SB stream, candidates can choose between Maths and Biology section.
KVPY Exam Pattern for SA Stream
The exam pattern for the SA stream is as follows-
- The exam will consist of 80 MCQ and the time duration will be 3 hours.
- There will be 60 questions in Part I and 20 questions in part II of the question paper.
- The maximum mark is 100.
- For each correct answer, 1 mark will be awarded and for every wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted.
- All questions are compulsory in mature.

KVPY Marking Scheme for SA Stream
Marking scheme for SA stream is as follows-

KVPY Exam Pattern for SB/ SX Stream
The exam Pattern for the KVPY SB stream is given below-
- The maximum mark is 160 and the question paper will be divided into two sections.
- Part I will carry 80 questions and part II will carry 40 questions. However, students are required to answer only 80 questions.
- Candidates have to attemp any 3 sections from part I (20*3 = 60) and 2 sections from part II (20*2 = 40).
- Part I will carry each 1 mark for each question and 0.25 marks will be deducted for wrong answers. Part II will carry 2 mark for each question and 0.5 will be deducted for every wrong answer.
