Largest Audio-Visual Training Centre to be Established by IIMC
The project of setting up this centre has been started in collaboration with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).
In an attempt to promote skill based education in the field of communication, the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) will soon establish Asia's largest centre for audio and visual training. This centre will be started in Film City, Mumbai.
The project of setting up this centre has been started in collaboration with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). The centre is likely to start within two years.
Talking about the project, Director General of IIMC, KG Suresh said that a total of 1600 trained professionals will be hired for the workforce annually. He further informed that a budget of Rs. 200 crore has been reserved for the institute that will be utilized for National Centre for Visual Effects, Animation, Gaming and Comics.

Suresh also added that various IIMC campuses will serve as regional centres. Different centres have been assigned by the institute. The centre of the north will be in Jammu and Kottayam has been decided as the centre for south. Dhenkanal will be east’s centre, whereas, Amravati and Aizwal will be the centres for west and north-east respectively.
Suresh will also be speaking about the same at IIMC’s alumni meet for Maharashtra chapter - IFFCO Connections 2017.
