Law Teachers Under Mumbai University Freak Out Over New Decision
Student scoring zero will also be allotted a college said the director of higher education.
The teachers of law under the University of Mumbai are complaining about the criteria which is being followed by the common entrance test cell. It was recently announced by the director of higher education of Pune on 4th August’ 16 that even if students score zero they will be allotted a college. This announcement brought chaos and now all the teachers are pointing the worst outcomes of this decision. One of the biggest points is that this will ensure a poor academic level of lawyers and would completely compromise the quality of lawyers.

A former head of law department and now a professor, Ashok Yende said to the reporters regarding this issue that it will not be fair to students who study really hard to get a college.
A dean of Law college in Navi Mumbai, U K Nambiar said that graduating from law college makes you a lawyer and this decision will ensure a poor quality of lawyers.

All the professors have pointed out that the education system is already very backward, the syllabus still includes old company act of 1956 and this decision is going to add to the backwardness.
Head of Department of Law University, Rashmi Oza said, “Law is a professional course just like medical and engineering courses. If admission to medical and engineering colleges have a quality check, so should law colleges”.
