Anugrah Narayan College, Patna has organized a guest lecture by a Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai, Mr. Vijay Singh. Mr. Singh was a former national coordinator of science Olympiads and has built a model based on Rosalind Franklin's experiment.
Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) has gifted Anugrah Narayan College, Patna with an experimental scientific model. The model relates to and X-Ray diffracted pattern of DNA. The model aims to clear the concepts of the Rosalind Franklin's renowned experiments that have been carried out in order to determine the structure of the DNA.
Rosalind Elsie Franklin whose principles have been used to devise the model was an X-ray crystallographer and an English chemist and who had made several contributions to the understanding of the molecular structures of Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) and Ribonucleic Acid (RNA) viruses, graphite and coal.
The model has been bought in eighty countries across the world. Professor (Mr.) Subhash Prasad Singh is the facilitator of today’s event at Anugrah Narayan College.
