Hyderabad & Chennai Enter the List of ‘Top 100 Best Cities for Startups’
Hyderabad and Chennai secure the 75th and 74th positions in the list of Best Cities with Startup Ecosystems by improving the rank by 100 from the list published in 2017.
The ‘Startup Blink Startup Ecosystem Ranking’ reveals that Hyderabad has entered the list of best cities for startups at the 75th position. Moscow, the capital city of Russia also made a debut on the list on the top 10 positions by moving up 4 points from the 14th position of the 2017 report made by the same agency.
Cities such as Chennai and Hyderabad moved up by 100 positions and secured the 74th and 75th place in the list compared with the 2017 report. They have bypassed Tokyo and Hong Kong.
The crown of the best city for startups in the World has been secured by San Francisco. The list is followed by New York at number 2 and London at number 3. The list has been made by comprising 1000 cities from 100 countries.
The best performing city in India is Bangalore which secured the 11th position followed by New Delhi at 14th, Mumbai at 29th, Chennai at 74th and Hyderabad at 75h.
According to the Moscow Agency for Innovations, there are more than 4,500 startups in the city which has helped to improve the position. The agency itself provided the expert, statistical and analytical data of the city to the ranking agency. The Moscow agency of Innovations said that the city is helping to grow technological innovations on a large scale.

The rating system analyses the IT data from the startups, accelerating factors and co-working spaces that are registered on the IT platform. The system is designed to identify the cities with the best startup ecosystems in terms of numbers and also quality, business climate, and infrastructure in the city.
