LLB Students Request to Attend Classes at UILS, PU Syndicate to Take a Call
The syndicate of Panjab University will soon decide on the requests of 16 LLB students, who had requested to attend the classes at University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS) .
In response to the appeal of 16 LLB students, who had requested to attend the classes at University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS) instead of pursuing at their parent institute, the syndicate of Panjab University will soon decide on the requests of these students.

These LLB students from different colleges and centres affiliated to Panjab University want to attend their regular classes at University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS) for different reasons like medical conditions and the circumstances in their families.
Most of these students have mentioned medical grounds as the main reason for their failure to attend classes at their parent institute. The vice-chancellor of the University had constituted a committee to look into the matter. The University had received several such requests from the students.
Recently the committee had discussed the issue in their meeting. There were varied opinions on the issue. Some members were of the opinion that the reasons the students had given were not strong enough and logical. The vice-chancellor of the university had said that he would never give his discretion on the matter.
The committee had suggested that Rayat Bahra Law College, regional centres of Hoshiarpur and Ludhiana should be told to instruct their students pursuing courses in these institutes to attend the classes at the parent institute.
Besides that the syndicate in its meeting on 27 November 2016 will also take up the financial issues basis another meeting of Board of Finance that took place at the University on 15 November 2016.

Panjab University, a public collegiate university located in Chandigarh spread over 550 acres of land in sector 14 and 25 of Chandigarh. It was established in the year 1947 and is one of the oldest universities in the country. The University has 75 research and teaching departments and 15 centres for the same at the main campus. Punjab University has 190 affiliated colleges. These colleges are spread over the eight districts of the state and the union territory region of Chandigarh.
