Lucknow University has asked candidates not to rely on guides and other shortcuts to crack university entrance examination. Since the examination is not subjective, last minute cramming will be of no help. So it will be much better for candidates to develop better understanding of fundamentals of subjects .
The entrance examination will be testing student's knowledge of 10+2 in the respective stream. The entrance test will have subjects taught at Intermediate level in in UP, CBSE and ISC board. The question paper will have 100 multiple choice questions to be answered in 90 minutes, carrying four marks each. There will be negative marking-one mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
LU vice-chancellor S B Nimse said, "For entrance examination university has specified subjects for every stream from which questions will be asked ." Students have appeared for board examinations recently and all they need is to revise class XII syllabus again and there is no need for any guides available in the market, he added.
The entrance examination of Bachelor in Arts (BA ), and BA (Hons) will have questions of class XII level from eight subjects including English, economics, geography, Hindi, history, political science, psychology and sociology. There will be 14 questions from English and Hindi each and 12 questions from other subjects.
