Lucknow University Revises Teaching Pattern to Match Delhi University Format
- Lucknow University will follow the syllabus, exam pattern and teaching process of Delhi University at UG level.
- Semester system and CBCS will be introduced for UG courses from the next academic session.
Lucknow University is planning to bring a relief to students seeking admission to UG courses. The varsity has decided to revise and alter the existing teaching pattern for UG courses. After carrying out a detailed study of teaching pattern of the University of Delhi, Lucknow University has planned to adopt and implement the DU teaching pattern from the academic session 2018-19.
Already, the varsity announced that semester system would be introduced in UG courses from the next academic session. Similarly, syllabus, teaching pattern and examination pattern will also undergo changes on the lines of Delhi University.

The varsity has directed all the Deans and HODs to submit a revised syllabus as soon as possible. The varsity further directed the departments to focus more on extension programmes such as awarding marks for NSS activities, sports, extra & co-curricular activities etc. Delhi University has been doing the same over the years, and the system turned out to be a great success.
Vice-Chancellor of LU, Mr. SP Singh revealed that the varsity would make all the necessary changes at UG level with a motive to impart quality education. All subjects offered at UG level will comprise of four units, assignments and internal assessment. Assignments are mandatory for all the students in every semester, he added.

Apart from semester system, Lucknow University will also launch Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS) from the next academic session. Through CBCS, students will have a chance to choose an elective paper from the prescribed courses.
