Maharashtra: Demand for MMS & MBA Courses Rises by 50% in Last 2 Years
Last year, there were around 75,000 applications, and in the year 2015, there were around 60,000 applications. Therefore, the statistics reveal that the demand for these courses has increased which is a good sign.
It seems that the number of students applying for Masters in Management Studies (MMS) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) programmes has risen by 50% in the last two years. As per the data that is given by Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), around 94,300 applications have been received for MAH-Common Entrance Test (CET) for MMS and MBA courses this year.

Last year, there were around 75,000 applications, and in the year 2015, there were around 60,000 applications. Statistics reveal that the demand for these courses has increased, which is a good sign. There are 360 management institutes across the state which offer MMS and MBA courses. However, the total intake of these colleges is 36,900, and the number of applications received is 94,300. It means, three students are competing for one seat this year.

Dayanand Meshram, Joint Director of DTE, revealed that the demand for management courses has increased and the current statistics reveal that these courses are still popular among the students. He further added that the registrations for CET concluded on February 13, 2017.
He further explained that the intake capacity of most of the colleges have been increased and more seats are expected to be added as some colleges might get approval for new batches by April. As per the report that was given by DTE, the highest number of registrations for CET for MBA and MMS course were 96,000 in the year 2011-12 where there were only 20,000 seats.
