Maharashtra Govt. Signs 24 MoUs with OEMs to Modernize ITIs
Maharashtra government seeks to train at least 2 to 3 lakh youth and provide them employment. This year. Around 1.9 lakh students enrolled in Industrial Training Institutes across the state.
The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Maharashtra is all set to modernise Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) across the state. For this purpose, the Department has signed 24 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and various automobile manufacturing companies. The collaboration will give a tremendous boost to it is across the state.
One of the officials of the Department revealed that they are very selective in making collaborations with various companies and signing MoUs with top companies which can transform it is complete.

As per the report that was given by Directorate of Vocational Education & Training, the enrollment in it is across the state have witnessed a seven percent increase compared to last year. The report indicated that ‘Make in India’ initiative by the government have brought foreign investors to establish their ventures in various states across the country and this might be the reason for the increase in enrollments in it is.
One of the officials mentioned that the state government have been training to upgrade ITIs for a long time. Now, the collaboration with OEMs will bring tremendous changes.

Through this collaboration, various OEMs like Tata Motors, Bharat Forge, Volkswagen and Bosch will install their latest machinery in ITIs and train the students. The students will also have a chance to get directly recruited by these companies. Hence, the student must perform well in their academics and training.
