Maharashtra School Holiday: Due to heavy rain in Maharashtra, the schools have been declared as a holiday for today, July 24, 2024. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Red Alert across a few districts in Maharashtra. The capital city of Maharashtra, Mumbai has been receiving heavy rainfall since morning. All schools are to remain closed for July 24, as per the latest update, until any further notification is released. In case the weather deteriorates, further holidays shall be declared by the government of Maharashtra. Several parts of the state, Nagpur, Gondia, Chandrapur, Vidarbha, Bhandara, Gadricholi, and four tehsils in Raigad been declared closed on July 23 itself.

• All schools across six districts under Red Alerts shall remain closed on July 24.
• IMD has issued light to moderate in most districts, and moderate to heavy in a few other districts. 
• Places with Heavy to Very Heavy rainfall in Maharashtra are Raigad, Satara, and Vidarbha. 
• As per the IMD report, most districts near the ocean are under orange alert due to expected heavy rainfall.
• Until further notice from the government, students and parents are advised to remain at their homes in safety by IMD.
