Maharashtra State CET on 5th May

The Maharashtra state CET i.e.MH-CET is going to be held today on 5th May 2016 across Maharashtra.
More than 4,09,000 students have applied for CET in the State, including 48,600 from Nagpur. 129 centres have been prepared for the examination. It is learnt that as many as 25,700 students will appear at 56 centres in Nagpur city. 4,884 students will appear in 14 centres in Wardha, 4,498 students at 13 centres in Bhandara, 6,838 at 21 centres in Chandrapur and 1,995 at 8 centres in Gadchiroli.

Hall discipline
The officials from CET Cell informed that though NEET type strictness will not be there at MHT-CET centres, but students have been instructed not to bring purses and wallets to centres. Electronic devices too are not allowed in examination centres and students have been advised to bring their own water bottles.

Paper in 3 languages
The officials informed that students were asked their preferred language for the test, English, Hindi and Urdu while filing the online application. If someone preferred the Hindi language for the test but wants English question paper at examination hall, he will be allowed to solve question paper in English, informed officials.

About the Exam:

MHT CET 2016 - Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Maharashtra State conducted MH CET/MHT CET 2016 for first year B.E/B. Tech programmes on May 5, 2016. Admissions to Maharashtra state engineering colleges were done through JEE Main for the year 2014 and 2015, and for the academic year 2016, DTE has conducted its own, one single combined “Common Entrance Test” MHT-CET 2016 for all Health Sciences, Engineering and Pharmacy degree courses. Students, who seek admissions to undergraduate engineering courses in the state of Maharashtra should have cleared class XII or equivalent and should meet all the eligibility requirements to be eligible for MHT CET 2016.
