CMAT Shift 1 Question Paper Analysis 2023: The first slot of CMAT 2023 has concluded today, May 4, 2023, at 12 noon. The CMAT 2023 slot 1 analysis has been updated here. Along with it, links to the unofficial question paper and answer key have also been made available here.
The National Testing Agency conducted CMAT 2023 as a computer-based exam with 100 questions for 400 marks. The question paper had five sections, each with a weightage of 20 questions for 80 marks. All questions were multiple-choice questions and there was a negative marking at -1 mark for each incorrectly attempted question.

CMAT Shift 1 Question Paper Analysis 2023: Candidate Reviews

- According to candidates who appeared for CMAT 2023 Shift 1, the question paper was comparatively easier.
- Mistakes were found in a few questions in the CMAT 2023 Slot 1 question paper.
- The General Knowledge section of the question paper was on the easier side with 18 questions related to static GK.
- One of the RC passages was based on Bhopal Gas Tragedy.
- The VARC section was dominated by Vocabulary related questions, there was 1 passage with 3 sections.
- There was 1 question from syllogism, Diffusion theory each.
- The Innovation & Entrepreneurship section was theory-based and was easy in terms of difficulty.
- Candidates are advised to choose the best option available if mistakes are found in questions from the CMAT 2023 Slot 2 question paper.
- As for the Quantitative section, questions related to Arithmetic were abundant. The Quant section was time-consuming.
- There were 5 DI sets from the Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation section.
- There were many Match the Following questions across all sections.
- According to students, the Quantitative section was tougher with the DI section being tricky.
- Logical Reasoning was moderate and lenghty as compared to other sections.
- The overall difficulty level of the General Awareness section and the VARC section was moderate.
- There was an RC passage on Tepid Water.
- There were 2 questions on Blood Relations in the Logical Reasoning section.
