MBBS Pattern Changed: Mandatory for Students to Fill the Logbook
MCI has come up with a new pattern for the students pursuing MBBS. MBBS students will now have to fill the logbook daily regarding the everyday activity.
The Medical Council of India has come up with a new pattern for the students pursuing MBBS. According to the new pattern, the Medical Council of India has made it mandatory for the MBBS students to fill the logbook. The students will be required to update the logbook daily regarding the everyday activity. MCI came up with this idea as it will not only streamline the process but the MBBS students will be evaluated on the basis of the logbook.
The logbook will be issued by the Medical Council of India itself. The logbook will include all the information such as on which day did the students read which topic and what did they learn related to that topic and other activities related to the same.
The main objective of MCI to introduce a logbook is to keep a track of all the information. This pattern will focus on the case study. This implies that if the students are studying about the heart then a case study related to the same will be explained to the students. The objective is to inculcate practical learning with academics.
Also, the performance of the logbook can be checked on the official website of MCI. The MBBS students are being emphasised on practice-based studies and just not theory-based studies.
MCI has gone a step further adding some new subjects for medical students. However, there is no change in the content of the course.
Making the logbook mandatory both students will help in the evaluation of both teachers and students. Everyday activities will also be included in the logbook to keep track.
