MCI Requests Medical Colleges to Release Students’ Feedback on Faculty on the Website

After a brief letter to the Union Health Ministry by the Supreme Court-ordered Oversight Committee, the Medical Council of India (MCI) has issued directions to medical colleges to update their sites which ought to incorporate students' feedback on the faculty.
The MCI composed a letter recently to medical colleges requesting that they update their websites in the first week of every month which ought to have information on each undergraduate student with their score in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and fees charged by the college.

The student data, including their performance and attendance, ought to be updated as and when the student moves to another semester.
The MCI letter stated that as a major aspect of a 360-degree assessment, students' feedback, as regards consistency in educating, practical demonstration, hands-on-learning, infrastructure facilities must be incorporated.
The Supreme Court had in May designated an Oversight Committee involving former Chief Justice of India Justice R M Lodha, leading Liver Specialist and Director of Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences, Dr. Shiv Sareen and former CAG Vinod Rai.
As indicated by request, the Oversight Committee will have the power to supervise all statutory functions under the MCI Act. The letter also mentioned that all choices of the MCI would require the endorsement of the Oversight Committee.

The MCI requested that the medical colleges to have a far-reaching website portraying the medical college and hospital that must be updated in the first week of every month.
