MEA Internship Programme 2022: Application Form, Eligibility Criteria & Other Details

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) calls out applications for their first edition of Internship Programme 2022 as a part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to honour the completion of 75 years of independence. The application link has been activated and the last date for submitting the application is 15th February 2022. Interested candidates can visit the official website internship.mea.gov.in to submit their application.  

MEA is offering total of 75 internships in a single term of three months from April 2022 to June 2022. The selected interns are expected to join MEA Headquarters on the same day in April 2022. Each intern is appointed for the minimum duration of one month to the maximum duration of three months. 

The announcement was made by MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi, in a social media post. The post said: “MEA Internships! Call for applications is now open for the first edition of MEA Internships Programme as part of #AmritMahotsav.”

Eligibility Criteria for MEA Internship Programme 2022

Interested candidates can go through the eligibility criteria for MEA Internship 2022

• Internships at MEA headquarters is open to Indian citizens with a minimum educational qualification of a graduate degree from a recognized university at the time of applying. 
• Additionally, candidates who are in the final year and have to pursue an internship as a part of their final year graduation curriculum will also be eligible to apply. 
• Candidates should not exceed 25 years of age as of 31 December of the internship year.

Selection Process for MEA Internship 2022

Candidates can go through the mentioned is admission process before applying.

• MEA Internship 2022 follows an online selection process.
• Interested and eligible candidates should register on the official portal and obtain their individual access credentials for further processes. 
• There are two stages of the selection process namely: Preliminary Screening and Personal Interview. 
• The admission process will consider a quota cum weightage' system where applicants from all 28 States and 8 Union Territories will be able to apply.
• A minimum of 30% of the 75 internships might be reserved for women candidates. 
• Candidates are going to be selected on the basis of their percentage of marks obtained in the 12th and graduation exams.

• Interested and eligible candidates must visit the official website www.internship.mea.gov.in
• On the homepage, click on the register tab 
• Fill in the registration details and click on submit
• A form will appear on the screen, enter the details in the form, upload the required documents and click on submit.
