The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) has asked researchers to keep writing articles, research papers etc. while they are on work from home. As part of a social distancing measure to prevent the spread of Coronavirus in India, researchers have been asked by the MHRD to work from home till 31 March.

Due to the Coronavirus outbreak that has taken the work by the storm, the functioning of educational institutions in India has been adversely affected. There are many major exams in India that have been postponed or cancelled altogether.

MHRD has also directed the teaching and the non-teaching staff members of schools, colleges and universities under CBSE, NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling), AICTE and UGC to work from home till March 31. As per the directions issued by MHRD, all researchers, faculty members and teaching and non-teaching staff will be considered as on-duty during this work from home period till 31 March. The ministry decision has come just days after NIOS and CBSE postpone the board examinations of Class 10 and 12 .

In a notice released by MHRD, the ministry has asked the researchers, teachers and faculty members of various institutions to focus on the development of online education. MHRD has asked the said staff to utilize their work from home for the development of online content, online teaching and online evaluation. Teachers and researchers have also been asked to prepare novel projects on topics such as 'Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat'.
