The Mechanical Engineering Department of MIC Institute of Technology inaugurated faculty development program on 20-June-2016. The program was inaugurated by lightening the lamp by the chief guest, Dr. Venu Gopal, Professor, NIT, Warangal. A total number of 70 lecturers of mechanical engineering of various colleges attended the program.
The chief guest spoke about the theme, “Zero Defect, Manufacturing for Matching”. He said that, “Quality and Cost of the product is very much essential in manufacturing process. The cost of the product must accommodate various categories of customers. Most of the countries have been following the ‘Six Sigma’ process in manufacturing of various products. Countries like Japan and Germany have been doing research in ‘Six Sigma’ process. The developed countries have been manufacturing products in accordance to the tastes of customers”.
Professor of SRK College, Mr. TS Nageswara Rao spoke about “Optimization Techniques”. Later the chief guest was felicitated by the college management and mechanical engineering department and presented a memento. The faculty development program will last till 26-June-2016.
The inaugural session was attended by CEO of the college, G Pandu Ranga Rao, HOD of mechanical department, Dr. Jaya Lakshmi, faculty members of various colleges and others. The academic year for the first year engineering students will commence from 27-June-2016.
