Miranda House Wins Sanjay Shrivastava Memorial Debate, Hans Raj Runners' Up
The Sanjay Shrivastava Memorial Debate was organised in memory of Dr. Shrivastava who is an alumnus of Hindu College of University of Delhi.
A team of students from Miranda House emerged as the winners of Sanjay Shrivastava Memorial Debate, and Hans Raj College students a close runners in the competition. The competition was held in Hindu College. The primary objective of this competition was to give a chance to students to speak and share their ideas and opinions as well as spread awareness on issues which plague politics in the current scenario. Students expressed that the current political situation has to undergo various changes.

The debate was organised in memory of Dr. Shrivastava who is an alumnus of Hindu College. Students of Miranda House expressed that patriotism is winning over humanity in the modern world. The English Debating Society of Hindu College conducted the competition, and the students actively participated in the competition and expressed their ideas. The participation of students clearly indicated that they spoke with utmost clarity and conviction.

The debate was not only based on logical agreement and discussions, but it was much more. It was to commemorate the memory of Dr. Shrivastava whose success stories are even heard today at the Hindu College campus and is referred to as a gem fondly. Faculty, as well as students, often speak about his achievements. Students take his success stories as a source of inspiration.
P.K. Sinha, Union Cabinet Secretary, distributed prizes to the winners. Various officials of government departments were also present on occasion and appreciated the students for their active participation.
