MIT, US to Assist SRM University, Amaravati Develop Curriculum
- MIT will assist SRM University to design its curriculum.
- Courses include the concept of hybrid learning to promote practical knowledge.
- SRM also establishing partnership with US, UK & Singapore.
The prestigious institute, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has started helping SRM University, Andhra Pradesh - Amaravati, in designing and developing their curriculum through MITx courses. It will include courses such as Classical Mechanics, Calculus, Electromagnetic Theory, Computer Programming etc.

Being designed and developed through the use of MIT courses, these courses will include the concept of hybrid learning. It will utilize both traditionally and technologically enabled teaching methods.
This is an attempt by SRM University to embrace a new method of learning which has not been seen before in India. The University aims at emphasizing on practical and application oriented learning through projects and lab courses rather than monologs which are a typical feature of its classrooms. It will help the students to enhance their educational knowledge and stimulate them to question more and hence discover more.
To ensure that there is an effective delivery of these courses, the faculty of SRM University, AP - Amaravati will participate in annual design camps. With the help of these camps, the faculty will learn techniques to blend various MITx courses and MIT OpenCourseWare (OCW) course material with the local content present in the courses offered.
SRM University, AP - Amaravati is also establishing partnerships with many other reputed international universities from UK, US and Singapore. With the help of support from these institutions, there will be a significant focus on both applied and pure research in areas of space technology, loT, renewable energy, nanotechnologies, blue economy and many more.
The University targets to grow from being called engineering centered to the integrated multi-disciplinary institution that offers courses in law, medical sciences, management, liberal arts and pure sciences.
