MITID Pune Hosts Design & Styling Annual Meet for SIAM
MIT Institute of Design Pune (MITID) Organised the annual meet for SIAM Design & Styling for interaction between industry stalwarts and the college faculty & students.
MIT Institute of (MITID) located at Pune hosted the SIAM Design and Styling, which is part of the Annual Meet of Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers in 2020. Design Heads from automobile companies in India attended the event. The event was organised at the college campus at Loni Kalbhor. The objective of this meet was to discuss the road map to strengthen the automotive Design ecosystem in India, through proper training and mentoring of requisite skill sets for the Indian Automotive sector.
SIAM Design and Styling group is part of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), which is the apex Industry body representing 46 leading vehicle and vehicular engine manufacturers in India. SIAM is an important channel of communication for the Automobile Industry with the Government, National and International organisations.
Several dignitaries from the automotive industry attended the event along with the faculty of MITID from the Transportation Design Department.

Director MITID™, Prof. Dhimant Panchal & Head of Transportation Design, Prof. Gaurang Shah Head welcomed the delegates who then briefed everyone about the philosophy, approach and the courses taught at MITID and even exhibited samples of work by the students of Transportation Design department. This was followed by discussions on plans and strategies to strengthen the industry-academia relationship in the area of automotive Design. This was followed by a visit to the clay modeling lab and rapid prototyping lab as well as other studios. The delegates also had a face-to-face discussion with the students and gave them perspective about their work and inputs on professional development.
