Motilal Nehru School of Sports, Sonipat (MNSS) will Get University Status, Assures Youth Affairs Minister
Youth Affairs Minister of Haryana said that the Cabinet will approve the proposal to transform Motilal Nehru School of Sports into a varsity and assured that the government would provide the best sports facilities along with quality education to students.
Anil Vij, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister of Haryana assured that Motilal Nehru School of Sports located at Sonipat will soon get university status. He mentioned that so far, the school is one of its kind in India and the Government of Haryana will make it as one of its kind university in India. He made this statement at the 42nd annual function of the school.
He further added that the Cabinet has to approve the proposal to transform the sports school into a varsity and assured that the government would provide the best sports facilities along with quality education to students.

The school was established as a public institution under 'Shiksha Sang Khel', an initiative of the previous government. Anil pointed that the initiative taken by the former government impacted the players adversely. Hence, the present government changed the initiative to 'Khel Sangh Shiksha'. He assured that he would do any help to the school on behalf of the government.

Motilal Nehru School of Sports, Sonipat is affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for the secondary and senior secondary level. The school is run by the state government of Haryana, and the government incurs all the expenses of the school. The school has 300 acres of campus. The school also provides residential facility and is equipped with an athletics stadium as well as all other sports facilities. It has all the qualities to become a university.
