MSU signs an MoU with IIT Bombay to Impart IT & Communication Training
- The MoU between MSU and IIT Bombay has been signed for the establishment of Spoken Tutorial Project to impart IT and communication training.
- It will also offer knowledge about various office tools, software and languages.
Manonmaniam Sundaranar University has signed a MoU with IIT Bombay for the establishment of Spoken Tutorial Project to provide training to students in the field of Information and Communication Technology and many other software languages. They will be offered knowledge regarding the software and technical skills to make them employable. It will provide training to the students of the varsity and 87 colleges affiliated with it.

The MoU was signed by K. Baskar, Vice Chancellor and Mohammed Kasim Khan, Project Manager, IIT Bombay on 18 April 2018. The Spoken Tutorial Project aims to impart knowledge about office tools, language skills and circuit design tools with the help of audio-video tutorials. The spoken tutorial team is one of the renowned teams across the country as it has trained around 43 lakh students in the field of Java, Linux, LibreOffice, C++, Python, php, MySQL, LaTeX, Drupal, OpenFOAM, and various other courses.

These courses are very well designed as one does not require domain expert for them. The project is apt from the point of view of self-learning for the students as its very student-friendly. The spoken tutorial project mainly targets school children, trainers, teachers, software developers, and research scholars so that apart from the theoretical knowledge they also have knowledge about practical and technical skills which are the basics of the corporate world.
