Mumbai University: B.A, B.Com Results Delayed, Online Paper Evaluation Begins

The University of Mumbai has delayed the results of B.A and B.Com examinations. The varsity has begun the digital evaluation of answer scripts on May 12, 2017. The examinations for B.A & B.Com courses took place in the mid of March and the first week of April. The varsity should release the results within 45 days after the completion of the examination. The varsity, however, began the evaluation recently.
This year, the varsity launched the digital evaluation of answer scripts. Under the new system, the varsity will use On-Screen Marking (OSM). The varsity will scan and display the answer scripts on the computer screen. The examiners will have to mark the papers on the screen. After assessing the papers digitally, the examiners will upload the results on a common digital platform.

Stating the reasons for the delay, one of the officials of the varsity revealed that they did not finalise the agency to set up the new system earlier. Now that the varsity has finalised on it in the last week of April, it has started the digital evaluation process after the setting up of scanning machines and training the examiners is in place. Initially, the examination department of the varsity scanned and uploaded one-lakh answer scripts of B.Com course. The varsity will release the results in few weeks.

Some of the affiliated colleges still claim that there is no clarity on the procedure, and they did not receive any instructions from the varsity.
