The School of Economics and Public Policy of the University of Mumbai has taken the decision to introduce a four-year integrated M.A course in Economics. The state government of Maharashtra revamped the Economics Department of MU into MSEPP (Mumbai School of Economics and Public Policy) in September 2017. At the same time, MSEPP took up for significant research projects for the state government.
The four-year integrated M.A Economics course is all set to begin from the next academic session. Usually, the duration of integrated courses is five years. However, MSEPP has come up with an innovative idea of four-year integrated course. Through this course, the students pursuing final-year B.A course will be given exit option and they will be able to take up four-year integrated M.A Economics course. After the completion of the four-year course, students will be awarded a certificate in M.A Economics. Initially, St. Xavier’s College of MU is expected to launch the course.

MSEPP will also launch a Diploma course in Community Forest Rights Management from the next academic session. The motive of the course is to ensure better implementation of the Forest Rights Act. The decision to launch the course was a part of the projects taken up by MSEPP with the state government.
