- Results have been announced for 463 exams out of 477, however, 80,000 commerce students still await their results.
The University of Mumbai is continuously delaying the results of various final year courses. Earlier, the authorities announced that they would upload the results of various exams by September 6, 2017. However, the current scenario indicates that the varsity is most unlikely to declare the results on the expected date. The varsity has yet to assess thousands of answer sheets.
The authorities have scanned the answer sheets for online assessment a couple of days ago. According to authorities on the Mumbai Universities, continuous technical glitches, gap in the number of answer sheets scanned and the number of students who took final year exam are the reasons for the delay in announcement of results.

For instance, around 80,000 students belonging to commerce stream are waiting for the results. However, the authorities have been claiming that the results were ‘in reserve’, as the authorities are unable to trace the answer sheets in the new onscreen system. Currently, the varsity has to trace around 5,000 answer sheets.
Experts have stated that the current situation is not in favour of students as the several answer sheets remain to be traced so that the results can be declared. Students who are still waiting for the results have been losing their patience. Their jobs and admission to higher education institutes have not been confirmed due to the delay in results and unavailability of UG mark sheets.
