Mumbai University Results: Law Student Marked ‘Absent’ is Topper of the Varsity
- A law student of Mumbai University who was marked absent in the semester exams was, in fact, the topper of the university.
- Lakhs of students suffered this year after implementation of online assessment.
A law student belonging to a Government Law College affiliated to the University of Mumbai was marked ‘absent’ in all the four subjects (sixth and final semester) has emerged as the topper of Mumbai University. After the evaluation process and tracing of answer sheets, the student namely, Parshva Bhankaria scored 71.75% in the final semester. He scored 65% in all the previous semesters and was surprisingly marked absent in the final semester. After several representations to the examination cell of the varsity, he was able to receive his mark sheet just a day before Diwali.

Mumbai University published the results of three-year LLB course (final semester) in August 2017. The aggregate score of Parshva Bhankaria in the final year LLB course (including Semester V & VI) was 70.12 percent. He was expecting a higher score in the final year and was thus elated to learn that he had secured more than 70%. Going forward, he wishes to seek admission in the LLM course.
On the other hand, a few students recently sought a stay on LLM admissions due to the delay in the result announcement following which the process had giving applicants more time to apply.

The administration of Mumbai University has completely failed to implement the ‘Online Assessment Process’ effectively. Such loopholes as described above throws light on the possibilities that could have resulted in the chaotic result announcement process. With answer sheets untraceable and several delays, the Mumbai University Online Assessment technique has miserably failed - also affecting its overall rankings and shortcomings that lead to NAAC reaccreditation process a miss for now.
