Mumbai University has missed the third result deadline set by the administration. Taking into account the delay in declaration of results, the Education Ministry of Maharashtra has proposed the announcement of the result in two stages.

Education Minister Vinod Tawde said that instead of waiting for all the papers to be assessed, the university, as well as the ministry, is considering the declaration of the papers that have been evaluated so far. The proposal has been forwarded to Mumbai University’s examination department.

In a meeting with the Governor and Chancellor of Mumbai University, C Vidyasagar Rao, and other examination officials, the minister suggested that the results of the sheets that have been evaluated so far should be declared.

The department will verify whether the declaration of result in two phases is legally permissible or not. Mumbai University announced on August 20 that 16,00,257 papers have been evaluated so far, while 1,50,674 papers still remain.

Devanand Shinde, Acting Vice-Chancellor of Mumbai University said that a new deadline will not be announced for the declaration of results and the university will focus on completing the evaluation process.

Speaking about the delay in results at a review meeting, Maharashtra Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao said that no student should suffer and the university must ensure that the result is declared as early as possible.
