MVR College of Engineering and Technology celebrated International Women’s day in a grand manner at college auditorium on 8-March-2016. The program was inaugurated by college principal by lightning the lamp. P. Sirisha 2nd year ECE student welcomed the chief guest by performing a classical dance.
The chief guest was Shri.RajaKumari, Chairman, Andhra Pradesh Woman Welfare Association. Addressing the students she said that “Women are the most courageous than men. Men may be physically strong but women are mentally more capable than men”. She also said that nowadays women are getting state ranks on par with men which is a good sign of decline in gender bias.
Literary and Sports competitions were conducted to the students on 5-March-2016. Prizes were distributed by the chief guest at the function.
More than 67 girls won prizes in both literary and sports competitions. The major competitions were-
Group Discussion, Elocution, Essay Writing, Kho-Kho, Soft Ball, Tennis, Table Tennis, Solo Dance and Sola Singing
The event was attended by girl students of the college, faculty, print and electronic media.
