NAAC Accreditation Gets Tougher for Colleges
So far, NAAC has been successful in accrediting 9,059 colleges and 436 universities as on 11-July-2016.
The NAAC accreditation is going to become tougher for the colleges which are applying for the second cycle in the month of September. The colleges have to submit the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR). This rule is mandatory for the assessment of the college.

The Executive Committee of NAAC said that it is mandatory for the colleges to have functional Internal Quality Assurance Cell. The committee termed it as “quality sustenance measure”.

According to the data provided by NAAC, the accreditation in the second cycle has been completed for 2,474 colleges and 138 universities. In the third cycle, a total number of 237 colleges and 32 universities will be assessed and accredited. All the cycles are for a period of five years.

The Executive Committee of NAAC has also directed the institutes to upload minutes of IQAC meetings and decisions were taken on the institute’s website.
