Nalanda Open University Convocation Ceremony to Take Place in December
The 13th convocation ceremony of Nalanda Open University (NOU) will be held on 8th December 2018. As many as 15,670 students will be awarded graduate degrees during the ceremony and 28 students who have topped in their subjects will be awarded gold medals.
The 13th convocation ceremony of Nalanda Open University - NOU will take place on 8th December 2018 at Bapu Auditorium. The varsity will award graduate degrees to 15,670 students in total, out of which 45% are female students. Also, 28 students who have topped in their respective undergraduate and postgraduate subjects will be awarded gold medals on the occasion.
SP Sinha, NOU Registrar, informed that Lalji Tandon, Governor and Chancellor has given his consent for the convocation and he will be the chief guest for the prestigious occasion. He will present the 28 toppers with gold medals. Two medals will be awarded to best female students (graduate and postgraduate) for scoring highest marks in their respective subjects.

A total of 15,670 students will be awarded degrees. Out of these, 4,180 students are from undergraduate programmes and 11,490 students are from postgraduate programmes.

The varsity has prescribed a new dress code for the convocation. The dress code for convocation is white kurta and pyjama or dhoti for men and red/lemon saree or lemon yellow kurta for women. The university will also give malviya turban and angvastramto students as a token of gift.
Nalanda Open University was established in the year 1987 and offers various undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the field of science, arts and humanities, commerce and banking, management and in education.
