NCPCR Recommends CBSE to Exempt Children of Martyred CRPF Personnel from Board Exams 2019
NCPCR has asked the CBSE Board for relaxation for children of the martyred CRPF jawans. 40 CRPF personnel lost their lives on 14th February in a terror attack in Pulwama.
In the wake of the recent Pulwama terror attack, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) asked the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Friday to exempt the children of the martyred CRPF personnel from the Board exams. Instead of board exams, some alternative arrangements can be made for such children, the commission suggested.
Priaynk Kanoongo, NCPCR Chairman said that this is a time of pain for the entire country and they would like to support the families of the slain soldiers to the best of their abilities.

In a letter sent to the CBSE chairperson Anita Karwal, the NCPCR chairman suggested the school board give relaxation to the children of the slain personnel for the Boards.
On Thursday, a CRPF convoy was attacked by a Jaish suicide bomber who was carrying over 100 kg of explosives into a bus, which led to the killing of 40 jawans. A convoy of about 78 vehicles was transporting more than 2,500 CRPF personnel from Jammu to Srinagar. They were travelling on NH 44 and were scheduled to reach their destination before sunset.

A Mahindra Scorpio SUV which had explosives rammed into the CRPF bus and caused a blast which led to 40 CRPF jawans losing their lives, and many others were injured. This is seen as the worst terror attack to happen in Kashmir since the beginning of the century. Pakistan-based Islamist militant group Jaish-e-Mohammed took responsibility for the attacks, and a local Adil Ahmed Dar has been identified as the one behind the dastardly attack.
