NEET 2017 Results Likely to be Delayed, Fresh Plea Filed in Madras HC to Cancel NEET

This year NEET-UG 2017 examination led to a fresh set of controversies, more than the previous year. Students and parents from various parts of the country have been raising the issues with regard to NEET examination. According to the schedule, NEET-UG 2017 results are expected on June 8, 2017. The results might be delayed due to the fresh plea filed in High Court of Madras to cancel NEET examination. Earlier, the court had issued an interim stay on the declaration of results. The court will hear the plea on June 7, 2017.

According to the new petition, the petitioners claimed that the government must consider Class 12 marks while carrying out the admission process instead of NEET score. Mr. Gladwin filed the petition in the High Court and revealed that he has taken this decision for the sake of students.

The Madurai bench of High Court issued a stay on the declaration of NEET-UG 2017 results last week. Justice M.V. Muralidharan directed the Union Health Ministry, CBSE and MCI to file counter affidavits on June 7, 2017.

Earlier, a parent claimed that the questions in NEET Tamil medium question paper were based on state syllabus, and the questions in English medium question paper were based on CBSE syllabus. The parent also filed a petition in Madras HC on the same.

NEET-UG 2017 examination also led to controversies in Gujarat and West Bengal. The parents and students from these states claimed that the question papers in regional languages were tougher than English-Hindi medium question papers. Therefore, students and parents have been seeking justice.
