Factors Affecting NEET Marks vs Percentile 2024
The major factors that vary the marks to percentile conversion each year are listed here: -
1. Number of candidates who appear for the exam: As the percentile is the relative ratio of the score of one candidate with the rest, the number of candidates appearing for the exam affects the percentile. If more students are there, then the value of marks will decrease i.e., if 600 marks had 99 percentile for 20 lakh candidates, the same marks may be reduced to 98 percentile for 24+ lakh candidates.
2. Performance of the candidates: If more candidates perform well, then again the competition increases and the value of marks decreases. Usually, with an increase in the registrations, the number of candidates scoring the same marks increases and thus the competition gets tougher.
