NEET Expected Rank 2024: The National Testing Agency (NTA) allocates ranks to all qualified candidates of the NEET UG examination along with the result. It is based on these ranks that seat allocations are made, whether it is at the national (AIQ) or state-level counselling. Hence, each candidate is allotted a unique rank as per the tie-breaking criteria whenever the raw marks or percentile is the same for two or more candidates.

NEET Expected Marks vs Rank 2024: Tie-Breaking Criteria

If two or more candidates score the same marks or percentile in the examination, then their ranks will be decided as per the following tie-breaking criteria:

  • Candidates with a higher score in Biology (Botany & Zoology) will be allotted a higher rank, followed by,
  • Candidate with a higher score in Chemistry, followed by,
  • Candidate with a higher score in Physics, followed by,
  • Candidate with a lower ratio of incorrectly answered questions in all the subjects, followed by,
  • Candidate with a lower ratio of incorrectly answered questions in Biology (Botany & Zoology), followed by,
  • Candidate with a lower ratio of incorrectly answered questions in Chemistry, followed by,
  • Candidate with a lower ratio of incorrectly answered questions in Physics
