NEET Like Exam to be Introduced for B.Sc Nursing Admission
The Central Department of Health and Family Welfare has decided to introduce NEET as an exam for B.Sc Nursing admissions in India for the 2021-22 academic year. A bill has been drafted for the same.
The Central Department of Health and Family Welfare has decided to introduce new changes in Nursing Education. According to the reports, from the 2021 academic session, there will be an entrance test for admission to the B.Sc Nursing course. The exam will be conducted in the same way as the NEET examination.
The exam will be conducted at the All India level for admission undergraduate courses in Nursing. Currently, admission to the B.Sc Nursing course is done on the basis of merit, i.e. class 12th marks. Therefore, the Central Department of Healthy and Family Welfare has decided to replace the existing National Council for Nursing (INC) with the National Nursing and Midwifery Commission.

The National Nursing Council has drafted a new bill Nursing Commission Bill. Dr. Rati Balachandran, Additional Director General (Nursing), Union Ministry of Health has asked the general public and experts to send their suggestions and views to nnmcbill-mohfw@nic.in latest by December 6.
The Indian Nursing Council (INC) is a national regulatory body in India responsible for nursing education. It is an autonomous body which is governed by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and the Government of India Its job is to maintain the quality of Nursing Education in India and monitor and establish uniform standards in the respective field.
