Last week on Thursday, September 22, the Supreme Court had called off the counseling for admissions in private medical colleges in Madhya Pradesh.

The court ruled that there should be a centralized counseling process. The state government has been given one week’s time to wrap up the counseling process for both private and government medical colleges.

The court also said that two representatives from private medical colleges must be present at the time of the centralized counseling round.

The decision came after the Madhya Pradesh government had filed a petition saying that the private medical colleges in the state have been refusing to take students even though they were eligible for admission as per the NEET scores. The petition also stated that the private medical colleges were going ahead with their own counseling procedure for admissions.
