NEET PG 2022 is scheduled to be held on May 21, 2022. The NEET PG 2022 Admit Cards were released on May 14, 2022. In the admit card, many aspirants from Kerala have been allotted exam centres in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. To plead the matter, the General Practitioners' Association (GPA) approaches the state High Court.

The General Practitioners' Association (GPA) is a group of MBBS doctors in Kerala. The GPA is planning to file a writ petition against the authorities, regarding the matter of the NEET PG 2022 exam centres at the Kerala High Court. As per The Hindu, about 200 aspirants were allotted exam centres out of the state to various cities in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The Joint Secretary of GPA, Aswin Das, states it will be difficult for the aspirants to reach the exam centres in time.

Further, GPA states that the National Board of Examinations (NBE) released the NEET PG 2022 Admit Cards on May 14, 2022. With the release of the admit cards in such short notice, train tickets are not available to book for the candidates. Also, to book a flight ticket, candidates will have to spend around Rs. 8000 which is not practical. Additionally, female candidates will have to take a parent or guardian with them, which again costs double the fare. Hence, as per the current situation, about 194 candidates have decided to drop the NEET PG 2022 exams. Dr Aswin Das, adds that most of the aspirants are working professionals in hospitals. So, they cannot get a leave or find a replacement within such a short period.

Some of the major cities of Kerala, Ernakulam, Thiruvananthapuram, and Kozhikode are the exam centres for NEET PG 2022. However, within a few hours of the online application process, these centres were closed. Aspirants had no choice but to choose the option of “others”. By choosing others, candidates may be allotted exam centres far away from their hometown or state. Most candidates from Kerala, who clicked on “others” are allotted exam centres at cities in Andhra Pradesh- Hyderabad, and other, and Telangana.

The GPA urged the Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Mansukh Mandaviya, that many aspirants were unable to choose their desired exam centres, as there were insufficient exam centres. A mail was sent out with the urge to change the exam centres or allow the candidates to change their exam centres as per their convenience. Similar mails were sent out addressing the Member of Parliament, NBE, Health Minister, as well as the Chief Minister of Kerala.
