NEET PG Counselling 2022 Postponed: New Seats to be Added in PG Medical Courses
NEET PG counselling 2022 which is scheduled to begin on September 1 has been postponed. The revised schedule for counselling will be notified by MCC soon.
Medical Counselling Committee has confirmed that the NEET PG counselling 2022 scheduled to begin on September 1 has been postponed. The reason for the postponement of counselling is the delay in issuing a Letter of Permission (LoP) to PG medical colleges for additional seats. The revised schedule for NEET PG 2022 counselling will be placed on the MCC website soon.
National Medical Commission (NMC) will complete the process of issuing LoPs to medical colleges by September 15, and the online counselling process for PG medical admission will begin accordingly. The seat matrix with the list of colleges and courses will be released by the Medical Counselling Committee. In all probability, the online registration for NEET PG 2022 counselling is expected to begin by the last week of September.
On August 29, 2022, the Supreme Court bench comprising Justice DY ChandraChud made an oral remark regarding the deferment of counselling dates. The bench indicated that the apex court would not involve in the matter and delay the counselling. The court does not want to put the career of students in jeopardy.
Even though the apex court opined that the admission process should go as per the schedule, NMC’s delay in issuing LoP resulted in a delay in the counselling process. Last year, the counselling was delayed till November and extended till February 2022.
The candidates are advised to keep checking the counselling website mcc.nic.in for official information on the revised counselling schedule and not believe fake rumours.
