NEET-UG 2022 Likely to Take Place in June-End

Getting a go-ahead from the Medical Advisory Council of NMC (National Medical Commission), the National Testing Agency (NTA) is considering conducting NEET-UG 2022 in the third or fourth week of June. In a meeting, the Advisory Council suggested NTA to the timing and asked to set the exam schedule around it as per their convenience. 

Apart from NEET-UG 2022, NTA will conduct multiple entrance exams across various steams, starting from April 2022. Two of the major exams conducted by NTA are NEET-UG (for Medical and Allied Health Courses at an Undergraduate level) and JEE Main (for Engineering and Architecture Programmes at an Undergraduate Level).

Last year, the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Exam for UG courses took place in the month of September. For this, over 95 per cent of the registered candidates appeared. 

About 16 lakh candidates applied for the examination and out of those registered candidates, over 15.44 lakh applicants appeared. The exam took place in 13 Indian languages at 3,858 examination centres. Out of all the examinees, about 8.7 lakh qualified the examination. 

As per the official sources, the NTA is likely to announce the official NEET-UG 2022 schedule in the second week of March. With this, the application process is also expected to begin soon. 

Despite all the rumours going around NEET-UG being conducted twice a year or in different phases, it has been established the examination, like always, will only take place once, likely in June 2022. An official clarified that there will be no changes in the NEET-UG exam pattern
