NEET UG Upper Age Limit has been removed to much applause by the National Medical Commission. This historic move is sure to help a lot of NEET UG aspirants to continue on with their dreams even past the age limit from 2022 onwards. Decided in the 4th NMC Meeting held on the 21st of October 2021, this bulletin has just been released on the 9th of March 2022 after authorization by Dr. Pukesh Kumar, Secretary of the National Medical Commission (NMC).
Earlier the upper age limit for NEET UG aspirants was 25 years for all the candidates belonging to the General category and 30 years in case of the candidates belonging to the reserved category (SC,ST, OBC and so on).
In a letter dated 9th of March, 2022, addressed to the National Testing Agency (NTA), Dr. Kumar has directed the national body to remove the maximum age limit parameter from the eligibility section of the information bulletin of NEET UG.
This positive news has been shared on Twitter by the Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Mansukh Mandaviya. He said, “The National Medical Commission removes the fixed upper age limit for appearing in the NEET-UG examination. The decision will immensely benefit aspiring doctors and further help in strengthening medical education in the country.”
