New Academic Session Begins at PGIMER Chandigarh
Acting Director of PGIMER, Prof. Subhash Varma mentioned that a new session and new year would give them an opportunity to remind themselves regarding ideals and aims at PGIMER which were exemplified by the founder medical icons.
The new academic session at Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research or PGIMER was inaugurated by Prof. Guleria, HOD Medicine and former Dean at All India Institute of Medical Sciences or AIIMS New Delhi on January 7, 2016. On this occasion, he addressed doctors and students. Guleria indicated that right communication with the patient at the right time is the essential part while giving the treatment.

The main motto of PGIMER is to teach the postgraduate students and inculcate a research medium for the benefit of people.

Similarly, service to the community and the care of needy are also the primary motives of PGIMER. It is one among the institutes which is offering the best students in the field of nursing, medical and paramedical sciences. The selection process that is being conducted by PGI is not only tough but also competitive.
Subhash Varma congratulated the new entrants for achieving success in the selection process and for having secured an admission. He wished for a bright future of all the students. He further added that the students experience the best teaching methods in PGI and they need to work hard for getting success.
Finally, the vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. K.L.N. Rao, Sub-Dean of PGIMER. The new academic session began with 130 students who are in the process of joining postgraduate courses in the main specialities which include MS/MD in Paediatrics, Gynaecology, Nuclear Medicine, Medicine, Anesthesia and others.
